DC MOTORS

With a DC motor the speed of the motor is not dependent on the number of poles and offers greater versatility for different speeds or variable speed requirements. A magnetic field is produced by high strength permanent magnets. The magnets require no current from the power supply. This reduced current draw enhances the life of batteries used as power supplies in mobile or remote applications. The magnets also improve motor efficiency and reduce internal heating.

Common DC motor applications include conveyors, packaging machines, mixers, treadmills, printers, door operators, office automation, airless paint sprayers, and other applications requiring variable speed

SCR Motors

High Voltage permanent magnet DC motors are typically used with an SCR controller in applications requiring adjustable speed and constant torque throughout the speed range. They are widely used in applications requiring dynamic braking or adjustable speed/reversing capabilities.

Washdown Motors

Stainless steel or white epoxy DC motors for use on equipment where frequent washdown occurs, typically in the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries or otherwise wet environments.

Metric Motors

IEC global designs that meet international specifications for use on machine tools, textile machinery, and other equipment with metric dimensions.

Low Voltage Motors

Motors suitable for applications with battery or solar powered operations, or generator supplied low voltage DC motors. These motors are high torque, continuous duty designs for applications ranging from pumps to electric carts.

Sub-Fractional Motors

Precision subfractional horsepower DC permanent magnet motors are designed for use with full wave, non-filtered SCR controls for adjustable speed applications requiring dynamic braking and constant torque throughout the motor’s speed range.

Explosion Proof Motors

DC explosion proof motors are designed and approved for application in hazardous environments having certain explosive gases or materials present. DC explosion proof designs are available in high and low voltage configurations and feature a rugged mechanical construction.
